Introduction: What is Looksmaxxing and why is it important?

The Origin – From Incels to Pickup Artists

Are you familiar with the movie The Matrix? The protagonist “Neo”, who lives in a fabricated world, is offered two choices: Either take the blue pill to stay in Wonderland and live a life full of ignorant bliss, or take the red pill and learn how reality works. After he chooses reality, Neo wakes up from his forced slumber and faces the harsh truth: His world is being controlled by machines and humans are just a resource to generate power.
In modern male internet culture, this choice is often compared to dating: Taking the red pill makes you realize what women „really” want (which mainly boils down to being dominant), while the majority of people who are still „bluepilled” think, that behaving nice and having a good character is what gets you all the dating success (spoiler: it doesn’t)

While the red pill may be more relaistic than the blue pill, it gave rise to people called „Pickup Artists”, who think that just approaching random women on the street with a quirky line will eventually land you one. While this may work for some, for the average Joe it just doesn’t. But if behaving like a so-called „Alpha Male” is not enough, what really makes the difference?
Enter the Blackpill. Wikipedia labels it as „a fatalist set of beliefs related to the incel ideology”. And while the term does originate from an incel blog and later spread to forums, the Blackpill is not just a one-way street to depression and inceldom.

The Redpill ideology states, that behavior and character are the most important factors for attracting women. Blackpill ideology on the other hand denies this and says that physical attractiveness plays the largest role. This worldview is not just a baseless opinion but backed up by data.
Incels accept this and wallow in it, however, they don’t try to change their appearance. Instead, a lot of them, who don’t look as hideous as they say they do, just complain about how unfair the world is. And while yes, not everyone is created equal, you need to move on from the data and act. This hope for a change in your body is how Looksmaxxing eventually came to be.

What Looksmaxxing is about

Modifying one’s body sounds like what the „Biohacking”-community is doing by, for example, implanting magnets under their skin. But the key goal for a Looksmaxxer is not just change itself. It’s change to have sex with attractive women, find a girlfriend who is actually attracted to you, and be successful in a looks-based career like modeling. This can be achieved through things like exercise, skincare, maxillofacial surgery, and even leg-lengthening surgery.
I wouldn’t fault you for thinking that „appealing to women is beta-male behavior, you should improve yourself for yourself”. But let’s turn it around: Do you think that women apply make-up just for themselves? Do you think that all the clothes they buy, the nails they paint, and all the hair they color are just for their own satisfaction? If so, then how is it that appearance, not character, is what they decide to change?
Women do this so that men they like look at them, which in turn gives them satisfaction. But what’s so wrong about that? Men are, just like women, social creatures who want to be loved and, even more, respected for what they do. They want to be of high social status and have access to expensive cars and beautiful girls. All of this requires other people’s approval.
This is my first rebuttal. My second one is that Looksmaxxing has mental benefits that go beyond attracting girls

Building character and improving mental well-being

A Looksmaxxer will exercise to look good. But with the habit of going to the gym comes improved health and the ability to build a powerful habit. Studies show for example, that exercise increases blood flow to the brain, improving neuron capacity. This will help you with everything from memory and mood to critical thought and speech. Exercise is the foundation of a successful Looksmaxxing plan, acting as a powerful cornerstone for your mind and body.
And let’s not forget all the diseases that come from being obese, inactive, and even underweight.
Recessed jaws also come with correlated health issues: For some people, fixing their face has made them breathe better through their noses, stop clenching as much, and improved their TMD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction).

For all of these reasons and more, we created this informational blog to discuss tried and tested Looksmaxxing methods. While we are no doctors, and therefore cannot give any medical advice, we still have personal experience with our subjects and try our best, to give nuanced and fact-checked advice.
